"Oh, how stubbornly does love - or even that cunning semblance of love which flourishes in the imagination, but strikes no depth of root into the heart - how stubbornly does it hold its faith, until the moment come, when it is doomed to vanish into thin mist!"
-Nathaniel Hawthorne, "Rappaccini's Daughter"

Thanks! I always love when I come across something interesting when I'm reading. I usually highlight it, but then forget about it. This time, I had to do an exceptionally long project on Nathaniel Hawthorne, so that's my excuse.
